Seems to be a nice game πBut why oh why do I have to press the FIRE button when I want to jump?
I know there are fewer and fewer people who know what a Joystick is and only know gamepads, but it would be cool if you could add a "C64 mode" with normal input to the game π
Thanks a lot for your nice comment. But I have to disagree with your "complaint" ;). I dare to say that 99% of people prefer the fire button to jump. It assures exact control over the jump while moving. I understand that once familiar with Joystick up, it is difficult to learn the other way. But "normal" IS fire button. Think of the early arcade games like Donkey Kong: "Jump button makes Jumpman Jump". This is how platformers are meant to be played. Anything else is simply a compromise owed to only having 1 button on standard Joysticks and has nothing to do with gamepads. So I hope you can also find the fun and challenge in Timo's Castle learning the right way to jump. :)
If not let me know and maybe I can make you a special version for your convenience.
This is definitely a masterpiece, as well as a great tribute to Henry's House. Love the difficulty, the attention to detail, and, of course, the majestic '80s feel. You got it exactly right! Still figuring out the optimal way of finishing all the levels. Thank you, and keep up the good work!
Thanks Galadh for this wonderful comment. We have many more future plans up our sleeves and the restriction of 64k won't stop us from making them happen :)
Very nice and innovative platform game with some funny references. Our German-language review can be found in our recorded livestream starting at 00:42:56. There is also a longplay starting at 04:39:07.English subtitles are also available. Subscription to our YouTube and Twitch channel is welcome. π
Thank you. But I need to point out that you reviewed the game based on a "cracked" version, which might not exactly reflect our version of the game. But thanks anyway.
Beautiful effort! A real love letter to the original Henry's House game. You've captured the spirit perfectly and it plays like a true modern-day sequel, but still retains the old-school charm! I think it's great! Thank-you :-)
Hi Kevin! Thank you so much. Nothing prepared me better to this than taking part in the Reset64 4kb 'Craptastic' Game Compo in 2022. Learned a lot that way. I hope I can also take part this year. Long live the C64! :)
What a wonderful comment. Makes me really emotional. That's the moment when you realize how much joy you've brought to the track and that all the hours and effort have paid off. We are not at the end of the journey.

When I downloaded the file "Pixelbrei VICE V3.8 Settings" I noticed it does not have a file extension. Is this correct?
Thanks for your purchase <3. I hope you will enjoy the game.
The missing extension is correct as VICE does not have a specific file type for its settings.
Thanks for the explanation.

IMO pressing up to jump can be flaky.

Very good game and great music. I also added it to my new "Gameplay of New C64 Games from May 2024" video.
Thank you! Great to see many new high quality games for the C64.
Thanks for the 1.1 update! Nice to see those small fixes added. I must admit that I also found "Load game" confusing :)
You're welcome. And yes - lesson learned: for next time we will hire a professional C64 UX Writer ;).

This looks amazing but I will have to wait for the NTSC version! Hope it's out soon!

Thank you. We'll do our best <3
ThereΒ΄s a bit of lag in the video. Dont look fluid, like the game is. Anyway thanks
Perhaps it is the fault of the program that tests. Anyway the game is very smooth with no lag π
